You can't protect Bitcoin in general but you can protect your coins. First, don't keep all coins you have in just one wallet and avoid online wallets.
I agree with you. We have no way to keep all Bitcoin in the world but we surely can save our Bitcoin by keeping them in a proper way. Yes, it is better to avoid keeping them in online wallets, especially in an exchange wallet. Put them in hardware wallets, it is much safer than the online ones. If we want to send our Bitcoin to exchange or online wallets, just do it once we want to trade them.

To be honest, hackers are more advanced than us.
Correct. It is because they are always working to find out the weaknesses of the Bitcoin/crypto storage system. They must do research and analysis as well. So, that's why we must be more careful and updated the way to store our crypto/Bitcoin assets.
