I've already have an account with Havelock but I also see people selling "direct shares" from the information provided wrt auctions. What's the advantages/disadvantages of either and how are the direct shares held? Are they valued differently? What is preferred to be held?

I know thats a bunch of questions but I'm most interested in AM1. Thanks.

PT's > more liquidity, you are able to sell them in a second, if you want/need ... for Direct's you need to prepare auction, or some external deal.

Direct's > more security (you don't need to trust 3rd person, issuer of PTs - it will be HavelockInvestments from March,1st), Friedcat has your address, and he's sending dividends to you. Also you can prove ownership of shares easily.

So if you plan to invest long-term ... buy directs, or buy PT and transfer them to directs asap, but if you want to play day trading and speculate a bit then buy PT ... you can change your mind anytime you want and transfer directs > PT or PT > directs, its up to you. Welcome Smiley
Thanks for this! I bought my first share yesterday from Havelock and I should probably transfer it to direct share since it's a long-term investment Smiley
