I take 10g of VC every day, spread throughout the day. No issues.
Take 2 or 3 grams, each, of L-lysine and L-proline along with your V-C, and it will protect you against heart disease as well as CV. Search on "Linus Pauling."

Lysine is also good for the skin, rashes etc. BUT if you rely more on Arginine (which cacao and dark chocolate is rich of) be careful that taking Lysine depletes Arginine.
It's always good to take Amino-complex supplements in addition to certain aminos, to maintain nutrial balance.
L-arginine helps your body make HGH (Human Growth Hormone). In middle-age to old-age people, HGH produces increased youthfulness. The youthfulness helps the whole body absorb more L-lysine and other nutrients, and use them correctly.
If you get HGH shots (expensive), get them moderately. L-arginine, if taken in large doses, will give you the HGH you need to remain somewhat youthful.
