Jokes like that don't age well even if you happen to be a fan of making fun of hurricane, pandemic, or plane crash victims.
I don't look at this as making fun of the victims (and obviously I wouldn't like that). But making fun of the situation can lighten the mood a bit. And it actually contains a serious warning: social distancing is really needed.
Maybe we are supposed to figure out how it spreads? Do you need to post in a thread of an infected person?
Quoting an infected user didn't get me infected. Maybe you need to be quoted by someone who's infected? That kinda makes sense: the ones who are contagious spread it.
Or, knowing theymos, it's probably based on a large mathematical formula with many different ways to get it. And I expect full statistics from theymos afterwards.
I get it, though. Some will always turn to humor to cope with fear, uncertainty, concern, cabin-fever...
I prefer humor over fear, and I think we should be able to have a (bitter) laugh about almost anything. However:
Mocking a situation that is killing many people and making a lot of people extremely ill is not funny, IMO.
Mocking makes it less funny indeed.
We should have a treatment about this virus
*It's not real, just edit from inspect elementI'm pretty sure advertising a fake cure would be illegal in most countries.
