Someone addiction to gambling is caused by several things, and in most cases it is due to the gamblers own purpose. If the goal is to earn money and make a lot of money from gambling, then that person is very close to being addicted.

So, when gambling is considered the easiest way to make money, then a gambler will return there to get his goals and that is why they are not too worried about the risks that gambling can pose. Winning and losing in gambling is normal for them, and when they have to lend money or sell some valuable objects for gambling needs then the level of gambling addiction is extreme in my opinion.
