Passive cooling of cards generally is for sound sensitive environment such as Music Production. Though they go as far as full passive to everything including CPU.

That said... it was more of an experiment to see if one could play a modern game on a passively cooled card. It's akin to mining for the fun of it or intellectual curiosity, instead of for profit (you know who you all are )
