This years' April Fool's Day prank may have been in bad taste, but as theymos pointed out in
his thread on the subject:
Note that I designed this "forum virus" to be easy-to-implement and interesting; my goal was not to create any sort of realistic coronavirus model. I suppose it could perhaps serve as an illustrative example of some general concepts, though, such as exponential spread.
I do recall a couple of years ago the prank was the word Bitcoin which was inverted, but otherwise was an unremarkable year.
Another year (??last year??) was a KYC prank with very dubious questions.
