Blame it on crypto ranking websites like coinmarketcap which have an option or ranking exchanges based on their trading volume so most fake exchanges use the metric to full people and make them think the exchange is actually having a big trading volume yet it's not the truth.

It more like the Era of fake social media likes and followers to fool people as thou the owner of the page has a huge following. Coin ranking sites like Coinmarketcap have to stop ranking exchanges by their trading volume if such things are to reduce or stop.
