I think you misunderstood. I was receiving the message when trying to download the wallet not install it.

I do not know if a change was made or I just tried again at the right time but I was able to download and install a couple of days ago and indeed the wallet has worked well since. As for Telegram, I noted previously that I receive an error message when I try to join.

It would be nice for someone to pop on here to post updates. Just a request. Thanks
