As much as possible I avoid using cryptocurrncies such as BTC or ETH not just to avoid the fees for transferring to the platform from my wallet and vice versa. I would rather store and accumulate them than to risk it in gambling. If ever I have spare money for gambling I buy XRP since the fee is cheap and transaction is fast.
Accumulating and saving it is what the majority does but it wouldn't hurt you much if you know how to manage your money when you gamble. BTC, ETH or any important altcoin you own, you can gamble them with any amount as long as it's a very small amount.
But most of the casinos are bitcoin-focused if not, prioritizes bitcoin and accepts some other major altcoins.
