This might actually start becoming a problem after the pandemic. The pandemic is pushing the governments to introduce serious restrictive measures, including major privacy violations, in order to combat the spread of the disease. The measures that have already been introduced would have been unthinkable months ago on democratic states.
Haven't thought about this deeply yet, but on the top of my head, I don't think so. If they were to illegalize bitcoin due to privacy reasons concerning the pandemic, it would make a lot more sense if they start with banning physical cash first. First, it's more private(and anonymous), and it's physical hence the virus can spread through it. Going to straight to banning bitcoin because of these reasons makes zero sense. Unless they just use the pandemic as a sort of excuse to ban bitcoin.
