It was stuck for 38 minutes only.

The difficulty retargetting algo makes the current mined block difficulty get lower after 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes...

So even if this happens again..... the network will never get stuck due to high hash variations.

This has all been thought thoroughly already.
