What will most gambling addicts do when they can no longer gamble at casinos, and what do you think they'll do when the casinos reopen in several months from now? Will most of them be finally cured of their gambling addiction, or will most of them return to their old ways?
If those gambling addicts cannot adjust to online gambling, then this is good for them. They will certainly be rehabilitated from their addiction because of the current development. If they will shift to online gambling because of the closed physical casinos and other policies pertaining to the containment of the virus and they love it, their addiction will not in any way be cured. I am hoping for the former, of course. These quarantine or lockdown days are better spent bonding with family.
I think they most probably will adjust to online gambling because once a gambler always a gambler.Nowadays internet access is easily available to most of world population and they will read tutorials about playing and gambling online.Even if they cannot do it themselves they will find other people to set up accounts for them.I find very difficult for gambling addicts not to adjust to just another form of gambling.
I don't know with other countries but here in my place it seems it is the opposite. There are so many gamblers who are hard-time fanatics of their specific gambling hobby that it is either that or nothing at all. I don't know, perhaps it is not really gambling itself that attracts them but more of the game. I have known people who are only playing Mahjong, for example, and not other games. There are also those who are hard fans of cockfighting that even if there is a very strict policy prohibiting gatherings during this time of physical distancing, they're sneaking out and hold matches in the hidden corners of the cemetery or even at the rooftop. They simply cannot take a break from it or enjoy other forms of gambling.
Or perhaps these are the old gamblers who are not really open to doing their thing online. It must be boring to them sitting all alone facing the computer where interaction is limited into chat boxes. These are hardcore gamblers but more like hobbyists than just pure gamblers.
