First you should better to read a lot both about mining and trading on specialized forums like Bitcointalk, Cryptotalk and different websites. Mining is more resource-intensive, because you need the equipment and of course electricity that should be not very expensive. Otherwise it may appear to be non profitable at all for you. In case you would like to get some very high and rapid profit, nowadays you would not get it because the crypto market does not give rapid and high rises in price. BTC you may buy and hold for a long time and after some period of time you may get some profit) but in case you are going to trade I would not recommend to start trading with the BTC and big amounts. I would recommend to start from some not so expensive coins in order to understand the principle first. So it depends on what you would like to get.
