You might be on to something there but to say it as not take seriously might be an overstatement and a bit on the strong side. By the time various countries took action to curb the impact of the virus there were too many deaths and too many infected citizens. Leaders of those countries took action they thought was for the best as soon as they made their own assumptions about what the future infection rates would be and based on how fast the virus was spreading.
As for the view that sports events might re-start in August or September, sadly as of yet there is no guarantee that will happen. I am highly skeptical of that happening, nobody can give a clear indication as of yet what will happen therefore we will need a little more time before we get clarity.
I think this virus was not taken seriously when it began spreading outside China.Only when it spread like crazy starting in Italy and then diffusing in other European countries extreme restrictive measures to contain it were taken.We are still under these restrictions and I think we can start to think of sport betting minimum in late August and early September.
