What you just said might not be accurate but I guess your son is interested in bitcoin, learning bitcoin was not a bad thing for a 14years old and to be honest, this is a good thing to learn and could add up to his knowledge since bitcoin was a technology. I guess just support him in what he's doing and for sure you will not complain if he earning bitcoin or money on his own.
If you have enough resources or you have knowledge about cryptocurrency or bitcoin it would be better if you do it with your son at the same time.
