You will have to play in at least one of this series' tournaments but with two tournaments left, you still have the chance. If you win both, you may even qualify for the Championship game.

And I'm assuming I'd still have to pay the 200 championship fee? So realistically speaking I'd be paying 9% rake across a series game and the consolation game so I'd be better off playing any regular tournament on SwC, unless I could choose to donate the 200 to the consolation one's prize pool instead. I'll likely pass on this one thanks, but I could be persuaded by a decent guaranteed prize.
The extra 200 chip fee is something that everyone pays in order to increase the final prize pool. The size of the pool + the .05 SwC is adding in, should make players want to play in every game and play their best poker. Of course playing your best does not guarantee you will win, poker is a game of skill in the end mixed with a little luck.
The players who have 0 points still have a chance to make the final game. It would take 2 stellar finishes and some bad plays by the users near the bottom of the final 9, but it could be done.
While we welcome any and all players of all skill levels, the end result I hope to achieve is to hang out with each other, play poker, and have fun. The money is just a secondary added bonus. You're paying an extra $1.40 roughly on top of the $7-7.50 buyin per game for good clean fun. Shouldn't be about 9% or a decent prize pool.
Just an FYI, 1st in the regular games has been paying between 9000 and 12000 chips for 1st. That alone is a decent prize pool considering the buyin.
