Get to know the abusers is not difficult. Just check the transactions that got confirmed with a different txid. For this there is need of the authentic Mtgox logs.

This helps locating the stolen bitcoins. Off course it does not help to locate the thieves because they for sure used false documents to register and an anonymous connection.
