If you are talking about making serious competition with the existing technology giants such as Amazon Facebook and Google, then in my opinion the competitors has very little chance of creating any real-life competitive product that will be able to push them out of the market even if the depth of the onset crisis will be great,  it not will lead to the complete collapse of these giants.
