Afaik this feature exists since they came online for the first time. I remember that I was given 5 thousands points for this VIP level and it made me jump into KNIGHT without spending money in order to achieve that level.
It is great feature, VIP leveling system with its own benefits for each level to give something back to players for their loyalty on the site.
