That is the risk you are taking when you are becoming an altcoin trader. If you purely trade on stuff that are more certain like treasure bonds you are not going to make a lot of money, you are going to get a small amount but sure amount of money, if you trade stocks you are going to make more money if you are lucky but there is risk involved so you could lose as well, even warren buffet lost money some years.

When you trade bitcoins you are going to probably make more money but there is even more risk, you could make x2 in a year or even x3 in a year but you could lose 50% of your money as well. When you go down to altcoins it is getting even riskier, you could make like x100 from it if you are super lucky, but could destroy all of your money as well. So it goes from more secure but low to more risky but more profits, all depending on how much risky you want to take.
