Without watching your video I'll go with a personal answer that bitcoin has value because people see it an asset/commodity while as also a currency which offers an option for a means of transaction. It's the backing the people have in bitcoin that gives it value. Without the backing of the people, bitcoin would had be worthless as no one would had consider it a safe heaven as it's currently is.
