As you first tried it on a PC it didn't work on, I suppose it's your main computer so, if you wish, I could try helping you out and solve the problem on it.

Does the upgraded Ledger now work with Ledger Live on the first PC or does it still give the same "Oops, couldn't connect to device" error?

If it gives the same error, have you tried the tips BitCryptex linked you to? Try running Ledger Live on the first computer as an Administrator (right click Ledger Live -> Run as Administrator -> if a window pops up asking whether you'd like running it as an administrator, press Yes)
