Yeah, I'm not sure what's being asked here: about SQRL-the-company, their products (i.e. FK33), or the service that hosts your hardware?

SQRL is a real company that sells FPGA's you can run yourself or have hosted (I've tried both). Hosting is run by a partner company (mwdataco) and they occasionally update the bitstreams (mining software) that hosted cards can run. Some hosting customers are unhappy about the limited selection of bitstreams: during COVID shutdowns they could only mine HNS. And that coin just became unprofitable to mine... so time for new software.
Hosting profitability (and variety of coins you can mine) haven't been what many people expected when they signed up: but none of it is a scam. Unless crypto values dropping over time and difficulty going up as ASICs join networks is a 'scam' and a surprise to you... in which case you're really in the wrong forum

So, not a scam: but also not making suitcases-of-cash for customers either... at least as of May 12 2020.
