Something odd has been occuring to the Marscoin mining pools.  The official pool has been getting knocked offline to the point it is amost perminently offline now.

My own pool, "the Other Marscoin pool"  was also knocked out a few weeks ago shortly after a heavy round of mining followed by someone dumping RDP connect attempts into the mining port.   Whatever it did prevented it from being able to assign shareID to the miners mining it anymore, generating null shareIDs which MPOS cannot work around.   I have been actively attempting to resolve it - but the issue seems to be between MPOS and twisted stratum-mining.   A test rebuild of the pool had the issue return shortly thereafter - and the only thing in common was stratum and the latest marscoin wallet build. So I am unsure if this is some unknown exploit being deliberately used to knock out mining pools or just poor maintainers of mining pool repositories.    We tried to swap out for NOMP as the stratum portal for MPOS, but either it is broken or the documentation is simply so poor that reading it will not result in a viable statum for MPOS.

Sadly MPOS, Stratum-mining and NOMP (the tools used to create mining pools) have all been apparently abandoned by their creators so no help appears to be coming from that direction.

I am currently searching for an alternate pool package - but so far it seems nothing supports anything newer than ubuntu 14 and most of them appear abandoned.
