I once gambled on the Fauchet website guessing the numbers were bigger or smaller. I agree with you some people gamble as work, as entertainment and some just try. In my opinion gambling is the act of deliberately wanting to double money or betting by guessing a game based on chance or just estimation. I think my definition is the same as what you wrote.
I think many people try gambling because they want to know what it feels if they play the game with money involved. Finally, they found that is exciting and makes them play more and more. When they play more and more, they will think that gambling is not for entertainment, but gambling is something that makes them curious about how to win the games.
