You can still try to mine blocks in the wallet with CPU using the built in miner:

To start mining for Gapcoin in your wallet go to:
Help > Debug window > Console and type in the following command at the prompt:
e.g.
> setgenerate true <number of CPU cores>
Solo mining is still possible due to relatively low mining difficulty.
GPU solo mining to the wallet and in the pool is also working.
