I don't think it should be regarded as a laughing matter. Regardless of their physical training athletes all got something in common - they are just ordinary people susceptible to the disease. If all of them get sick that will be the end of sport betting.
If they all got sick that would be the worst case of losing they could ever get. so instead of playing like that of suicidal game, they better not to because the important things they could ever get are to assured they get the best health when everything returns to normal. now that every game is crucial to get infected, it's better for them to rest and do some other things to escape their boredom.
