We appreciate how you must feel about this case. However, this situation not in any way implies compensation. Many other coins have similar addresses formats such as VET and ETH, and it is almost impossible to prevent this kind of mistake apart from being attentive to the address and double-check where are you sending your funds to. The coins that have different formats will not let you mix the addresses and you will see the error when sending.
This is more than obviously real amateurism in action, so they claim that Doge and BTC have similar addresses which is really nonsense, and the $15 compensation is so pathetic that I won't comment on it at all. Aren't they aware of how much damage such a negative case will cause them in the future?
What interested me from the beginning was who controls the address where BTC ended up? If Atomic Wallet has private keys from that address, then it would be fair to return the BTC or at least admit that they are not technically capable of doing so.
Excatly, the doge add is from a site I use which has multiple coins which you can deposit, I just copied the wrong one from the dropdown. I ofcourse contacted their support also if they can check the tx if they can see if that btc landed anywhere on their site, they said it did not since it was sent to a dogecoin address and nothing arrived, and also they use P2SH address on site starting with 3, and this one was converted to a Legacy addresses starting with 1. I currently know only of Atomic and Blockchain wallet that uses legacy address starting with 1. So to whom that converted btc address belongs to nobody seems to know, especialy Atmoic, they say they do not know, and I agree with you, I think they should at least admit they are not capable of doing so, of doing much more then sending 15 AWC, jeez...
