Hi, my name is Andrey Voronkov. I am original founder of the project and author of the SONM idea. I have sold rights for the project in March 2017 to other two co-founders (Sergey Ponomarev and Aleksei Antonov) and their investors. So, I was not involved in either pre-ICO, or ICO. However, since this all has affected me, I became interested in a way how the ICOs can be handled for the benefits of the investors. I was doing a research about DAOs since then and participate now in another project, which actually helps to protect investors in trustless and legaless/lawless manner. We use MolochDAO-like structure (Dandelion template from Aragon). When SONM has announced in September 2019 that they transfer project to the hands of the community, we came with suggestion for community to self-organize into a DAO. Part of the community became very positive about that, but part became very negative. Anyway, at that time we have found that it was not possible to create DAO in the way it can be fully operable. This year, 2020, it became possible (Aragon project has created many useful templates for that). So, if community wants to organize the project, the creation of DAO can be brought back to the agenda.


PS SONM platform itself is alive and it is used by three different startups: transcoding, machine learning, rendering (Rays) and a new one (biomedical computing) will join soon. The current price of rental GPU for the general purpose computing from SONM is 3 times cheaper that from Amazon AWS. So, what SONM needs now are sales and proper marketing in order to get clients, otherwise this is fully functional economically efficient technology, I think it is a gem for VCs, but I am not a big specialist in IR myself, I am just technical guy.
