Hey there everyone, I'm currently finishing my diploma and have to hand in my Extended essay. My topic is going to be Bitcoin(Comp. science) , although it seemed like a good idea at start , the topic seems to be quite too narrow. I have to research about Bitcoin, what part of it should I do the research on?

It also helps you to focus on the purpose of your research or paper. The main key is to read a lot, update about the latest information, and be sensitive to existing problems.
Bitcoin is a fairly new technology, a lot of cool innovations, but also quite controversial to cause pros and cons. From this you can try to analyze it, do we need bitcoin or not, is it profitable or not? that's a pretty complex topic to discuss. Good luck.
