Whenever we are talking about the transaction fee of Bitcoins , it's never intended to be taken in USD or some fixed Fiat Currency.

Why, it's better to say you paid x satoshi than x $?
You paid money, isn't bitcoin money?, and you paid more these days, it's a fact and no amount of denial can change it!

I do think if the price of Bitcoins was really low around 5000 USD , no one would complain about it .

Why would I not complain if it takes 10$ to send a tx rather than 1$? Just because I have more money I have to spend more?
What will happen when bitcoin reaches one million? We should deal with the fact that we have to pay 1000$ per tx?
Luckly extrapolation dones;t work like that or we would all be f***.

The author of that article obviously paid by the Ver side to promote BCH.
Most commonly the transaction fee depended on what Bitcoin wallet you've used.

Show me the wallet that will help your get now to get a confirmation on a 2 sat/b tx.
The mempool is full and people have to send coin, some can wait for days but some can't and no magic fee calculator will be able to cram 68M of tx that currently sit in the mempool in the next 10 blocks.
