just need about 500 gb storage if you want the full blockchain (recommended), less if you run pruned.
Right now the full blockchain occupies around 333 GB on my 500 GB WD HDD. Bought today Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB SSD and gonna tomorrow copy there all WD content to increase the synch speed.
According to estimates made by ETFbitcoin 1 TB will be enough for the next 5 years.
