I don't think it's a fact, just a different way to measure something. Not saying which one is right, but I bet nobody believe that much into it when they begin to know what the numbers actually mean. To be honest, CMC can easily change their algorithm or even provide different calculation with different metrics. I guess that website is going to face a strict competition.
