crypto assets for most altcoins and Bicoin are limited, as more people joining this makes prices goes more up and it is good for old investors ofc.

normally we should encourage people to join, to be able to sell faster too, the more buyers the faster you will sell, and this will let more banks and services work on supporting crypto
it is mostly good thing, but every point have its bad side, so yes they can harm the situation but it is still more benfitical than harmful
