Decentralized internet! That's one area of crypto that isn't given enough attention.

Too early to give attention to and it's kinda pointless for now in my opinion. A good read here

Read the article. Saw some interesting points and one I found abit challanging:
Quote
Users Don't Want the Extra Responsibility
.
It's not something that can't be solved if we want to

By the way the, internet mustn't have everybody on board. It could simply act as a parallel internet with its own currency/currencies and governance system to easily take care of problem quoted above, this:

Quote
Users Don't Want the Extra Responsibility
A system of peer-to-peer protocols would shift the responsibility of maintenance away from the owners of the servers and on to each and every user of a decentralized internet. Which is great for “tech-savvy and politically inclined users” who know how it works and care about their privacy, as MIT pointed out in a recent report quoted in a Medium article on decentralized networks. But that's not enough for everyone.

And I think such network having its own rules and governance system wouldn't prevent the already established national governments from regulating them. The regulations should prevent the network participants from breaking national laws/rules that intend to maintain peace, good behavior, etc
