From what I've seen on the website, KYC is not mandatory up to a certain point. I've reached lvl 18 and wasn't asked any KYC.
However, i believe, if you deposit a lot, and/or try to withdraw a lot (don't know which amount is threshold) you'll be asked to d KYC to prevent money laundering.
