Splitting it only doubles your chance of losing it all by losing just one of them.
Indeed, people seem to no be quite getting it.
The problem you try to solve is already fixed: multisig. Can recommend Shamir Backup as well natively supported by the Trezor model T. You can split the seed in as many ‘shares’ as you like, while each share in its own is useless.
