hey guys, i have been holding since 1Q2017, and pretty much closed my eyes on crypto since the huge crash.
i see its getting back on its feet slowly, just been wondering are there any new coins that are looking good and promising. i could dyor them but it would take at least a week

Well to be honest the best time to enter was during the extreme bear market because most the coins have already gained bigtime So considering the market potential i would suggest you not to get into fomo and chase new shiny projects rather you can wait for entry into reputed coins like btc, eth, ada etc that are always trendy and in my opinion they will move big by december this year.i see its getting back on its feet slowly, just been wondering are there any new coins that are looking good and promising. i could dyor them but it would take at least a week

Actually OP still has the chance to join and make profit. A lot of projects right now are going into decentralized finance or A.K.A. DeFi. He just needs to make sure that the certain project he needs to invest with is solid and is progressing. From my example, WZX from WazirX is a good example. Not sure but I think they are going to make WZX DeFi. Note that WazirX is connected with Binance, which is one of the top exchanges and very well known to most crypto ethusiast.
