The fact that the proposed bitcoin cat will be a Fork of a very popular project as that of bitcoin fork will make a lot of people support and invest into it. Most people lately don't really understand the project they support. They only look at the popularity of the team behind the project not what the project does. It will not be surprising to see the bitcoin cat becoming a successful one.

What do you exactly mean? It's a going to be a fork coin again, so I don't know if people are going to support it, to be honest.

As I remember Viabtc was one of the largest proponent for bitcoincash fork. They along with bitmain supported Bitcoincash calling it better for miners. Craig Wright forked it after he found himself not to be the prime person for the new coins. The desire for viabtc could be reasoned to the same.
Forking an open source coin is a good thing for diversification and parallel development but forking just to make you and your idea the only valid one would promote more forks than on actual development.

Yeah, I agree, just because you don't understand with the original concept, you would make a coin out of it, oh well, that is decentralisation.

it seems like a very simple formula to make some money quickly.
- make a name for yourself in the cryptocurrency scene (eg. ViaBtc, McAfee, Ver, Bitmain,...)
- either copy bitcoin and create a shitcoin to dump on idiots or start an ICO, IEO, STO, DEFI, XYZ,...
- dump that shit on whoever is idiot enough to buy it
- count the money you made...

Exacty, easy peasy.
