You're giving the answer to your own question: if you were inactive for a year, no-one would have started looking into your post history. Now you're active again and applying in bounties. Therefore, people rightfully check your post history to make sure you're not a shit poster, thus finding out that indeed you are - surprise - a shit poster.

Or do you expect people to congratulate you for not plagiarizing during the year your account was inactive?
