Apropos icons in the topic title, try avoid them a much as possible, and if you really want to use them, don't overdo it.
Some think that they will make their topics more noticeable if they use bunch of icons, but in reality it looks tacky and more often than not will have counter effect.

Depends on the context I guess. Definitely a no-go for most boards, but the gambling section for example would just not be the same without it in my opinion
