I would choose the first option, but while I would earn enough and create some reserves, i would probably start doing a job that i love and that is less paid and the previous earnings would allow me to make up for any expenses that I could not cover with a lower salary.
It rarely works like this.
I know people who got stuck in a corpo job they hated but thought they'll just earn enough and be done with it. As a result they either got used to doing it or got burned out and when they finally quit or got fired turned to addictions or stayed at home playing computer games and watching TV.
I have a friend who works abroad every 2 years for about half a year doing a job he hates but always brings back a lot of money for the Autumn and Winter. He lives with his parents, sits in his room all day and goes clubbing in the evening. He does that basically every day until he runs out of money and then goes back to work for 6 months and the cycle restarts.
