A rescan?

You are not "looking for a rescan".
As previously mentioned, if you don't recall what your password might be (e.g. you know the length, charset, anything..) and the password is longer than a few chars (like 5-7), then your chances are pretty much zero.

If you don't have an old backup (prior to changing the password) or your password written down anywhere, you are unfortunately out of luck.


Oh, and btw.. if you bought the wallet file, you got scammed. There is nothing to get out of there.
