Right now in our country, there is a lockdown but at the same time there are some POGO's that are still operating. Even though there is no vaccine, they are allowed to operate with strict protocols only.
This shows that at the middle of the pandemic, our government is allowing POGO's to operate just to recover the economy at least.
I know that some of the governments will allow casinos to operate just to support the economy. After the pandemic though, businesses will re-open again in the new normal and most of the closed businesses will try to recover from their losses. Casinos will do the same too for sure.
There is hardly any other option. The most significant news today is that University of Oxford/AstraZeneca have suspended their vaccine trials, after one of the test subjects fell ill. This means further delays for any potential vaccine against COVID 19. My guess is that we are at least 6 to 12 months away from making vaccine available to the public. So the government needs to decide whether they want to close down the economy for that long, or allow at least some of the sectors to operate normally despite the risk of infection.
