Just Eat France, an online food ordering service active in France with more than 15,000 restaurants, now offers bitcoin payments to its customers.

The French branch of Just Eat online food ordering service has started accepting bitcoins for on-demand orders from more than 15,000 French restaurants. As it turns out, Justite uses the services of the Bitpay payment company to activate this feature.

The outbreak of the coronavirus and the requirement of quarantine regulators and social distancing rules have led to a growing wave of demand for online food ordering services. At the same time, the use of cash declined. It is no surprise, then, that the food industry has turned to digital currencies as a convenient payment option.

In an interview with the media, Gregory Raymond, author of the French publication, said:

Just eat is one of the main players in the food ordering and delivery industry in France, and its action to expand the acceptance of digital currencies can help to learn the use of these emerging currencies among members of society.

The website of Just eat France states:

No fees will be charged on customers' Bitcoin payments. To pay with Bitcoin, all you have to do is download a special software or application to create a digital wallet.

Bitcoin-based payments on Just Eat will be based on the instantaneous rate announced by Bitcoin. However, if the user's Bitcoin payment is canceled, the refund operation will be credited to the customer's account in the form of Euros at a conventional bank.

In another part of the announcement on the Just eat website, it is stated about bitcoin payment:

When you make an initial payment, bitcoins are instantly converted to euros. Therefore, the conversion rate applicable to your payment will be the same as the rate used to refund the amount.

With this feature, Just eat can be relieved that if the user cancels a bitcoin payment for a pizza, he will not be able to return $ 50 million to his account.
