Well as I said in the T20 thread, I thought that Australia winning the third T20 match would give them some momentum going into the ODI series
I agree. Hazlewood performed brilliantly with the ball in both the T-20 and ODI formats and it is good to see him back in form so quickly. Marsh is playing consistently well too with the bat. England could have easily won this if someone supported Billings.

Both Bairstow and Billings scored more than half the runs themselves, but the rest fell quickly which is why the English side must be pretty pissed with themselves.

Without Hazlewood, Australia could have easily lost this match. All the other bowlers were expensive, while Hazlewood conceded less than 3 runs per over in a match where the average run rate was almost double that figure. In two months, Australia will be playing a test match against Afghanistan. I expect Hazlewood to be included in the playing XI, along with Starc and Cummins.

That is why he was declared player of the match. Indeed without him the result of the 1st ODI would have been different. English middle order took a break in the last match. I hope they do not do the same for the next 2 matches.
