I got my first mining penalty 
last night. Im not even sure what happened, when I woke up I checked and my vps node was off. I checked my logs and I did not see anything to cause it. I'm going to create a cronjob to avoid this in the future.

I'm going to create a cronjob to avoid this in the future.Hi buddy, to avoid this problem in the future you can add your node to the telegram bot ( @idna_node_watcher_Bot ) and it will alert you when your node is inactive for more than 15min, this way you avoid the penalty.
I have a cronjob in all my nodes to restart the server every 24 hours, it has never given me problems, I hope it helps you...
restart the computer at 11AM every day "0 11 * * * /sbin/shutdown -r +5"
You can also use realRioda's website notifier on idena.site to avoid downtime. But it works only if you are awake and near your PC since you have under 1h to restart the node.
