An innovative new kind of money for South Africa! A purely peer-to-peer version
of South African electronic cash would allow payments to be sent directly from one
party to another without going through a financial institution.

Bitcoinrand started in early 2020 as an experimental digital currency. We have faced many
challenges to get to this point where we are now aiming to free the South African population from
the fiat-based monetary system. It is a non-profit based project. No business models are used.
Our vision is to change the way that most of the population see money and create a store of value
that maintains purchasing power over long periods of time.

We aim to achieve the vision of Satoshi with the Republic of South Africa. We believe that
Bitcoin has become a store of value and not the electronic cash it was intended to be. We have
come up with a solution for people to send 10 BZAR with a fee of 0.0002 BZAR. Where the
supply will not mathematically allow a pump and dump whilst also having block rewards that
would incentivize miners to keep the network stable and secure. We want a hawker selling fruits
and vegetables for 6.00 ZAR to be able to accept payment in BZAR since she cannot get a bank
account and cash in most areas are of high risk for the majority.
