I am not yet a miner but lately i have been thinking much about mining using solar power as an alternative to hydro electric power that seems to eat up most of those mining profits when I make calculations.

As someone who has experience with mining using solar power, i would appreciate your input 
1. What do you think about the expenses one has to incur when purchasing solar equipment vs cost of paying for electric bills?

2. Why do you mostly think it's taking so long for miners to adopt solar mining?
Is it the price of setting up solar equipment, lack of enough Knowledge about the solar energy alternative or unreliability of solar energy?

3. Is mining using solar power good on large scale or small scale?

4. Can one rely only of solar power when mining or they have to other power alternatives as back up?
